With prelims on Friday February 28th, Alice qualified in a top 4 slot for all 4 of her events: The backstroke leg of the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Fly, 100 Back, and anchor on the 400 Free Relay. Alice was laser focused on the Back and came away with a gold medal!
The prelims were held Friday evening at UNO with finals the following day at Millard North. Alice had another successful meet setting a pool record for the 200 Medley Relay swimming the backstroke and setting a meet and pool record while updating her High School PR on her 100Fly. Overall, the Elkhorn girls edged out Westside to win the invite.
Alice’s final year to compete in the multi-LSC All Stars meet ended up being a sweet one. The Wellmark YMCA in down town Des Moines is a favorite pool and Alice delivered some strong PRs!
The 2024 Elkhorn invite served as the 3rd meet of the year after last week’s Ram Relays meet was cancelled due to weather. This was an outstanding meet for Alice, setting some extremely fast personal bests and setting two new individual and 1 relay school records.

Second meet for the high school season! It was so much fun to watch diving, boys and girls swim at the same time! High school swimming is all about team mentality and I love seeing them compete as a team together! Lots of cheering too!

Alice’s debut high school swim meet was a strong showing and a great success for her and her team.
